Staying at our campsite in La Bourboule is a wonderful opportunity to explore the Puy-de-Dôme and its diverse landscapes, activities and heritage. La Bourboule is renowned for its healing thermal waters . The Grands Thermes, just two kilometers from the campsite, offer top-quality treatments, particularly for dermatology, the respiratory system and post-Covid care. The free shuttle service from the campsite makes it easy for our guests to get to the thermal baths. Take a stroll through the town’s Belle Époque charm, stroll through the alleys of Parc Fenestre or enjoy the stores, markets and events all year round. It’s the perfect place to take a gentle stroll around the Puy-de-Dôme.

In winter, the Puy-de-Dôme becomes a playground for winter sports enthusiasts. From La Marmotte, you have easy access to the ski areas of Le Mont-Dore, Super-Besse and Chastreix-Sancy. Downhill skiing, Nordic skiing, dog sledding, snowshoeing or tobogganing… all the snow activities on the Sancy massif in the Puy-de-Dôme are within easy reach. A shuttle bus runs 200m from the campsite to the Mont Dore ski resort. The campsite offers a shuttle service for a fee, departing from La Marmotte campsite in La Bourboule. Mountain atmosphere guaranteed, without the queues!
Discover the Puys chain and the Sancy massif
Classified as aUnesco World Heritage site in 2018, the Chaîne des Puys and the Limagne fault offer unique landscapes and a wealth of hiking opportunities. To discover the Puy-de-Dôme, set off on an assault on the Puy de Dôme or the Puy de Sancy. The Puy de Dôme (1,465 m), a dormant volcano in the Puys chain, is located some 15 km from Clermont-Ferrand and gives its name to the Puy-de-Dôme département.
In summer, the mountains are ideal for hiking, mountain biking and tobogganing. Breathtaking panoramas await you!

FENESTRE PARK
Between La Bourboule and the wild landscapes of the Massif du Sancy, Parc Fenestre is a splendid park covering more than 12 hectares, featuring century-old sequoia trees! This park offers an idyllic setting for a relaxing stroll, while allowing you to discover the richness of the local flora and fauna. With rides, slides, mini golf and a tree-top adventure course, your children will never want to leave Parc Fenestre in La Bourboule.
VULCANIA
A place for leisure and learning, Vulcania is a must-see attraction, combining an amusement park with an interactive museum, allowing everyone to better understand how volcanoes and our planet work in a fun way. Family activities
Fancy a family hike? The GR30 passes 200 m from the campsite. You can also explore the shores of Lac Chambon, fish at Lac du Guéry, or visit the hilltop villages. Sports activities
Mountain biking trails, via ferrata at Mont-Dore, zip lines with turns, rock climbing, trail running… there is no shortage of outdoor sports activities in Puy-de-Dôme! Christophe, at reception, will be able to advise you on the best mountain bike, road bike or hiking trails (starting point for the GR30 (Tour des Volcans et lacs d’Auvergne) is 200 m from the campsite and car parking is available for the duration of your GR30 hike) from the campsite. We will assist you in organising your excursions to the region’s many remarkable sites.
Sensational sports activities not to be missed: accrobranche at Le Capucin near Le Sancy, via ferrata, rock climbing, zip line with bends at Le Mont Dore.
More into water? Head for water sports at Lac Chambon, fishing at Lac du Guéry or in the Dordogne river.
